How can we consider him as the caliph of Muslims whereas Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) says, “A commander (of the Muslims) is a shield for them. They fight behind him and they are protected by (him from tyrants and aggressors).” (Sahih Muslim) Now, Do Muslims resort to this hidden caliph to protect them at times of turmoil and affliction? And how can we apply this hadith to a man who is not safe nor do his associates? Moreover, it is stipulated that for a person to be a caliph for Muslims an oath of allegation should be taken for him from all Muslims. Do Muslims accept this man as a caliph? No. He is only accepted by a few number of his group who represent an insignificant percentage of all Muslims around the world
